*Shifty eyes*
Mref. No doubt you're all tired of newbie introductions, but bear with me as I toss another one on the pile. The basics - I'm a female Australian who's recently discovered one of my characters has begun to develop a presence of his own to the point where I can feel him watching me, and caught a glimpse of him sitting in the back seat of the car, looking out the window with mild interest. I've been familiar with the term and concept 'soulbonding' thanks to a few friends, and thus have a bit of a head-start on recognising what this quite possibly is. So I set forth to find a community where I could mooch around and hear of others' experiences and...I guess this is it. *Waves* So hi.

As I said before, I've been aware of what soulbonding is for a long while now, but this is my first experience of having it happen to myself. (I follow a different philosophy which has opened me to the joys of having another voice in your head, but Kilmaeyon is most certainly not a soulbond =P) I like reading and writing, always have, and plan to get novel out on the shelves one day. One day, I tell you! But as of yet I haven't found any particular plot line to work around, and have been busy with university studies in any case.

And then, on the forum I frequent, we held a roleplay. This isn't anything unusual, and I have quite a number of roleplay characters floating around. But for some reason unknown to me, Alex turned out...different. I became incredibly fond of him as I never have with many of my other characters, and really enjoyed playing with him. I began building up his past more and more - and then suddenly found it didn't seem to be entirely in my hands anymore. It was like he was developing on his own. He started out as slightly bent but ultimately rather sweet and dorky, and somehow mutated into a darker, more withdrawn person with some serious mental issues. I mean, he's not entirely deranged or evil XD He's just a lot more disturbed than I'd first planned.

This was weird enough, and then I started feeling the bugger watching me, and have begun to get glimpses of him too .*Waves hands exasperatedly* As if one protective male wasn't enough...so yes. It would appear he's beginning to 'soulbond' with me or some such thing. Alex hasn't said a word yet, just sort of padded around quietly investigating my room and generally being wary. He has a much stronger presence than any of the other brief character glimmers I've sometimes had, which is what has made me believe this is honestly something more than basic character empathy.

From reading back over a few of the discussions, I'd say I probably see 'soulbonding' in a different way to a few people here. Some see it as a alternate dimension crossing thing, ne? I myself follow the 'purely a mental development' train of thought - and I refer to mental as in brainstuff, not crazystuff. But that's alright. Diversity is good for the soul =)

I'm going to confess right here and now that I am very new to this. I do not have years of experience, and though - like most young children - I had constant imaginary friends, I don't think they quite made it to soulbond status. I've never had a soulbond before, and quite frankly I'm not sure I'd cope well with 20 voices scrambling around in my brain. I've had Killy (Kilmaeyon) as my counterpart for almost two years now, but he's something very different. I suppose it's given me the advantage of being open to mental chatting, but seeing as I still get our voices mixed up occasionally, I can only imagine it will be chaos once Alex opens his trap.

So. Basically I'm here to delve into the soulbonding community, and I'm well open to any advice you can offer a poor newbie who just found an extra thingy in her brain a few days ago. Nice t'meet you all!

*Vamooses*

*Cocks head* Are you a soulbond, then? Forgive me if I've gone and looked like a doofus, but it's rather hard to tell who's speaking XD I talk regularly with a 'bond of a friend, so I'm used to having [brackets] indicate who's talking. But either way, pleased to meet ya.

You think I'd be used to talking to various aspects of people by now, but there you go X3 Don't worry, I'm sure my brain will comprehend the fact it just said hi to Sephiroth sooner or later.

Howdy and welcome. :) Try not to be too freaked out, most us bonds aren't here to cause trouble.

*waves* Hi, nice to meet you! our characters don't pop in much at all--one tags along pretty often, and two or three will talk to us if we go and visit them, but they like to stay in their world pretty much. (The one who follows us around died, which looks like it's the only reason he can float in and out.)

Hope to hear much from you; we're always happy hearing new stories!

Yeah, I tend to operate with much secretness =O I just wanted to wait a while and explore it a little, I suppose. I can't shuck that coyote wariness that easily, y'know X3 But heeeeey in any case.

Hey, I remained boring for over one and half years. That's an accomplishment! But sure, drop me a line whenever ye wish.

Ello ello! Nice to meet you, you can call me Lavvy <3 My bonds, uh, aren't very talkative. It's probably just me though, I'm not very good at sharing bodies DX Um, yeah.

A few of my own bonds orginated from roleplaying. Sora always comes to mind first, seeing as it took me months before I realized his presence XD He just sort of... appeared one day. Well, more like over a span of several days. I kept denying he was there because I thought it was stupid--especially since I had stopped RPing with him a long time ago, but... well, eventually he broke through to me and I accepted it.

I'm not sure how to really give advice on this subject... Just go with the flow, I guess. Do what feels right, I'm sure it'll work out in the end.
